As with the daytime programme, the Main Stage and the evening programme will alternate between Centrally & Village-run. This page will focus on the central programme and will also give some useful information for Villages when planning Campfires & evening timelines etc.
Evening timeline
The main feature of evening program is the Main Stage – here, we’ll have a mix of workshops, live music and DJs. The ‘early evening’ slot, from 16:30 -18:00 is aimed primarily at those 12 and under, so that they don’t miss out on any of the music and can still get to bed on time. Program will then run on until 23:30 on each central night. The full main stage schedule can be found on the Main Stage Schedule.
Themed nights
On two of our evenings, we have special themed nights to celebrate Woodcraft Folk’s Centenary: on Thursday 31st July the theme is Birthday, with a range of fun birthday party activities in the afternoon and a lineup entirely of Woodcraft acts. Remember to bring along all of your woodcraft colours and your party outfits, the more inventive the better!
On Monday 4th August, the theme is Future, expect some inspiring folk music about what our future could look like, before a good dance to a DJ, and bring all of your futuristic inventions and outfits. Perhaps you could fashion an outfit for 100 years’ time, entirely from recycled materials.
Each night from 22:00 to 22:30, young people will be required to head back to their villages for a bit of a break and to sign in with your leaders. Some may need to stay in their village after this point (Village Decision), while some Venturers or DFs might head back out for the final hour of music.
Campfires & International Campfires
On village evenings, we imagine lots of you will want to have a relaxing evening round a campfire. These will be organised on a village level, and should be shared between two villages – an opportunity to form more connections and friendships between groups, and so that as a camp, we can decrease our climate impact by burning less wood.
On 1st August we’ll have our international campfire evening, a time where we can share songs from around the world, and learn all of our international friends’ favourite campfire traditions.
