Travelling by Train: Camp 100 Starts on the Train

Shuttle Busses: 27th July & 6th August

The Camp 100 team are organising shuttle busses from Wellingborough and Market Harborough stations. Yes, that’s right – two stations! This has been determined with East Midlands Railway to create the best experience for those travelling as well as for the Stations.

If you wish to use the Shuttle Bus, please complete the Shuttle Bus Request Forms:

The Woodcraft Folk Train

We’ve teamed up with East Midlands Railway to bring you a special group travel experience for those coming from (or via) St Pancras Station in London.

The wonderful people at EMR have developed one large group booking for all of us. This means you can book on in small groups and still get the group discount – you just need to quote the booking reference below. To make things easier for EMR we do ask that leaders still organise their districts bookings and you do not pass this onto parents to do.

In addition EMR are providing additional staff and reserved carriages for two trains from St Pancras on the 27th.

These are the two trains below:

St Pancras11:0013:14
Luton Airport Parkway11:2913:46
Luton11:3213:49
Bedford11:5014:18

We strongly encourage everyone coming on this route to travel on one of these two trains. Although the ticket is valid for any train both EMR and Woodcraft Folk want us to have the best experience travelling to camp and these two trains will be supported so that “camp starts on the train!”.

You don’t have to book these tickets, if you find better prices with advance tickets, rail cards etc do book those. Please still aim for one of those two trains and let us know, you’ll still be able to get in the Woodcraft reserved coaches if we know about you.

What we need you to do:-

  1. Book your tickets as soon as you can (this deal will close a few weeks before camp)
  2. Email travel@camp100.org.uk to confirm you’ve booked and which of the two trains above you will take on the outbound.
  3. If you have a preferred train for the return (note due to demand and these tickets being flexible we may work with you to travel at a slightly later time).

How do I Book?

Contact travel@camp100.org.uk for more information. Booking contacts have been emailed with how to book train tickets.

But I’m coming from North of Kelmarsh…

Don’t fear – you may still be able to get in on the super-duper-group-discount action! Contact travel@camp100.org.uk to find out more.

FAQs

  1. Do I have to do only 1 booking? No you can book on now those people you already know need to travel by train and later ring up for extra tickets.
  2. What is a 16-17 year old saver card? Check it out – you may want to promote it to your younger DFs as it’s better value than a Young persons rail card
  3. Can we get extra discounts with a Family and Friends card/young persons card? No – this is already a group travel discounted ticket, specifically developed for us!
  4. Can I just forward this email to parents to book? Please don’t do that it will get really messy and confusing for both EMR and our Woodcraft Folk volunteers organising transport.
  5. Will this work on a different route? No this is specific for trains from St Pancras. You will need to start your journey at St Pancras.
  6. What about if we’re starting outside of London? You can still call Donna and she will help you book your whole journey which will be a combination of your other train ticket and this specific one at a group rate. If you have specific questions about your own journey email jeni.dixon@woodcraft.org.uk.

If you have any questions at all please reach out to us to discuss and we will do our best to support and to liaise with EMR.
